Activity 1 :
Work with a partner. Look at the pictures below. You can print these at home or ask your teacher to print them for you and you can complete these with a partner in class. Otherwise you can write and answer the questions in your book and give them to your teacher.
Look carefully at the two picture of a Fun Park and a bedroom below. Write at least 8 sentences using a different preposition each time. e.g. A boy is hanging underneath the monkey bars.
You can add names, colours, shapes and sizes to make your
sentences more interesting. e.g. Oliver is swinging his legs wildly and shrieking excitedly
underneath the monkey bars.
Remember to:
Underline each preposition with a ruler.
Use capital letters and full stops.
Activity 2:
Read this poem carefully with your partner. Count the number of different prepositions the poet has
used. Can you write a similar poem together using different prepositions from the list above ? You can be as creative as you like! Your poem does not have to rhyme.
Remember to:
Underline each preposition with a ruler.
Start each line with a capital letter.
Use speech marks if necessary.
Use full stops.
