Nouns and Noun Groups

Watch this video to understand what a noun is. Remember to change the subtitles to your language.

Noun Groups

Noun: a person, place or thing (something you can touch: cat, table, man, chocolate)

Adjective: something which describes the noun (yummy, hot, tall)

Noun groups make our writing more interesting. A noun group is:

adjective + adjective + noun = noun group
The cold, windy day.

Now look at this image of a frog. Think of how many adjectives you could use to describe the frog.

adjective       +     adjective       +     noun       =     noun group
green                     spotty                   frog          =  The green, spotty frog.

You can make your sentence even more interesting. For example: The green, spotty frog that sits on a lily pad.

Now here are some pictures. Can you think of some adjectives to describe them? Can you put those adjectives in a sentence to create a noun group? Write them in your book and show them to your teacher .
